About Josh Tenor
Josh is not your typical musician. He fought a tough and important battle in his teenage years: music versus academia. He comes from a flourishing artistic environment in Hackney, East London, but was raised in a household that put pressure on him to excel academically. Even with a career now, in investment management, Josh knew early on that his adoration for music was superior.
Inspired by the hip-hop, neo soul and funk music of The Soulquarians, Josh Tenor presents to us an eclectic, groove-heavy sound as a singer, songwriter and producer, being apart of London's ever growing jazz-soul scene. Being introduced to artists like D'Angelo and Tom Misch at a young age, he began his journey to create a type of music with meaning - transcribing his life experiences from diary entries to songs and pieces.
In recent times, Josh has had national exposure, with his latest single, Wanted to Know receiving its first play BBC Radio1XTRA. In July 2022 he was invited to tour with BBC Introducing, and in November of 2020, played at a BBC Live Lounge with fellow Londoner, hip hop rapper, Hyphen
